    Hi,

    Have a Z10 on Bell. Bought an unlock code from ebay didn't work so I ponied up and paid the full $50.00 to Bell. Interestingly they provided the exact same code so I presume it is the correct code. tried 4 attempts to enter code and despite the sim settings saying:

    Network Subset: unlocked
    Service Provider: Unlocked

    When I insert a non bell sim (tried 2 different working other SIMS) it says that the network is locked and only emergency calls. I was able to change the APN etc.

    Called Bell, they said mmmmmm don't know what to do, Call Blackberry.

    Called Blackberry they said, mmmmm we can't figure it out nothing we can do from our end so call Bell.

    Anyone have any thoughts or experience?

    If Bell is your carrier, they must provide you correct unlock code, if you gave them money. Go there and ask to talk to manager, show him how "unlocked" your phone is. $50 is not amount of cash just to be thrown away.
    Unlock code is code that should unlock your phone. Code they sold you didn't unlock your phone. Make them unlock it or refund you the money.

    Thanks I already got a refund from Bell that's not the issue. I just want my phone unlocked and was seeing if anyone else had experienced this issue and had a solution.

    I have read that after X number of attempts the phone becomes permanently locked. At that point I don't know if it can be unlocked or if BB has to be involved. But if the phone should have been capable of UNlocking and YOU did not overdo attempts, you should possibly get a new one from the carrier.

    I unlocked my z10 and your given a 16 character code but what worked for me was just putting in the first eight digits. It's what worked for me hopefully it'll work for you

    Again, take it to Bell/carrier. And ask (or demand if you are entitled to have it UNlocked) that they accomplish it or provide a new phone that is or can be UNlocked.

    This is a Bell issue. Take the phone to them and make them unlock it themselves or give you a new phone.
