It seems that even though I have enabled it to delete on both server and hub. The messages is still available on the server.

Has anyone else also noticed it? I have outlook.

I've noticed it. Equally as well, when you select multiple emails to delete, you will NOT have the option to delete on server and hub. Seems like it is only happening one message at a time. So if you have multiple emails to delete at one time, you cannot delete on server and the hub. At least that's my experience on 10.2.1; one at a time and you can.

Actually if u delete multiple emails at the same time the default setting now is to delete from both hub and server irrespective if the rule you have set earlier.

Delete on handheld only, even when set as the default rule will only happen on single mail delete only.

Delete on server and handheld works like it did earlier both on single or bulk delete.

Message will still be available on server till the device and server sync after your delete action.

That's really strange. I tried with one to. But that didn't work either. The messages get deleted on the hub just fine though. And I have chosen to delete on both server and hub with multiple emails selected. Which I got a prompt for and put it as reference. I have to see what happens.
    Thanks for telling your experience.

When and how often does it sync? Is it based on my own rules for fetching new emails from the phone?

Server to handheld synch intervals can be user selected thru the account settings. So it's up to the user.

As I have five email accounts on my BlackBerry I have four if them set to synch every 24 hours as these support push and u get my incoming mail in real time.

For my Yahoo account which doesn't support push synch intervals us set to 30 minutes.

Right. I noticed that they disappeared after awhile. After I refreshed the Web mail. So thanks for the help.
And it did work with multiple emails selected and deleted.
