Yes no icon and no need for it

How do you come to the conclusion there is no need for a icon? Especially when there is no notification in the status bar, you literally have to go to the hub to see you have an email... for a company built around email... seems terrible.

K9, stand-alone email app. Free on the app page. I'm using it until BBerry sorts POP3 issues. Lights up a tinkerbell thing and chimes when you get mail.
Sounds like a good workout, thanks.

LOL literally going to hub takes less than a second from anywhere and one simple swipe. In 2 months never had any reason for an icon but that is just me.

I guess there is a difference when I have emails non stop and need to stay on top of them idk just feel less connected with HUB

K9 is an Android port, and won't integrate with any of the native features.
There are still icons for new messages, they're just not in the status bar. Do a swipe up from the bottom and hold, and you'll see all the icons on the left. It's a layered system of notification. First there's the buzz/tone/LED flash, and if you want to know what it was you swipe up and see the icons, if you want to know more you then swipe right and peek into the Hub. If you want to interact with it you release and are in the hub, if not you reverse the gesture and go right back to where you were. It's very easy to know when you've got mail, without resorting to crappy Android ports like K9. It's just designed differently than other phones.
It's called flow. A more natural way of dealing with hundreds of emails.
Up and to the right. Proceed.
