So i decided to try and install Skype through the sideload process. i've never tried this yet, but Skype is something i could use.

Followed all the instructions to the letter, but when i try to connect with DDPB is says it can't find my device and i should try rebooting the targe (I'm assuming that means the Z10).

So i did. no soap.Same error message . when i plug and unplug the Z10 from the USB port, Windows comes up with the message about it being connected and disconnected and the Z10 says it has connected or disconnected to a computer. So it seems that Windows is finding the Z10.

I'm plugging directly into a front USB port on the computer (Dell 780), no USB hub. Running Windows 7 Pro.

    Any suggestions?

    thanks in advance.

I had this happen today. The solution was to unplug the usb cable turn off and on the development mode toggle. Plug it back in and try to connect again.

You could also try downloading the vnBB10 loader or using the Chrome extension they might work better for you.

Also, make sure USB Mass Storage Mode is turned off before trying to connecto to either vnBB10, DDPB or using Chrome with the PlayBook Extension.

It won't work if USB Mass Storage Mode is turned on. Check that and turn it off.

In Chrome, go to settings then click extentions. Search for PlayBook App Manager and install it. Bookmark the open page so you can return quickly next time. After you log in with IP and password you set, Just drag the .bar file to the list of already installed apps and your set.

Happens to me from time to time. I find if I fiddle with the ip address on the device and actually change it ( under dev mode Window) after two or three changes it works.

So in your case, change the "0.1" to something else.

I tried the chrome extension process. First time side loading and got Skype and Netflix installed both working.
You should try that if you haven't.
