Are you both running the same software versions on your phones?

You both hold the phone the same way? Same settings?

Are you baptized? Maybe you're not seeing the light.

Kidding, it most likely has to do with software versions.

Yes, same softwares and same positions. Everything is same. Ironically, I sold my old z10 I thought its a hardware fault but when I got a newone, its better than the previous BlackBerry but not when compared to her z10.

What if I change my software?

Blackberry doesn't allow us to change the settings like brightness in camera, does it?

Could be as simple as the settings be off auto.

Honestly, this is something that could happen to any advice - hardware or software wise, best bet is to adjust your settings to ones that provide better lighting.

CB can't really help unless we have screenshots or something.

I think the different modes affect that. I asked about how you're holding the phone as if one person is shading the sensor area with a finger or hand that can make a difference also.

Setting the SCREEN BRIGHTNESS (main settings) does control how bright the lcd looks when you open the camera.

I Agree with F2, check your screen settings first, or better yet, upload to a computer and check the brightness there. You can lighten a picture by changing the focus/exposure square to a darker area (tap and hold the focus thing in the middle, then move to where you want and let go). Alternatively, choose HDR - it will lighten the dark areas and darken the bright areas.

Oh yes, thanks for your help guys! I adjusted the brightness but nothing helps. And yes that trick of fucsing somewhere does work like a charm. I suppose thats a software issue with some workarounds.

Guys tell me that how exactly do we hold our phone while using camera? I mean where are our sensors?

I just keep my hand away from being near the lens area.

EDIT: Not that I haven't got my fingers in pics before

The rear camera should always be toward the top whether in landscape or portrait mode. (I still have to get that down automatically)

If you turn on the flash, the photo will be brighter than your sister's Z10.

    You're welcome.

OP didn't realize that it's really just because his sisters screen display brightness is to the max.
