    I tried to turn off the notifications for a specific contact and it does not change anything none of the rules I set worked. Everything saves but it does not work. I was on official since I got my Z10 and now updated to Z10STL100-3/10.2.0.1047 and the issue is still there...

    That's correct even if you try turning off everything for a specific contact it will not work.

    OP, do you have a custom contact notification app installed, like Be Buzz Pro? You can easily change notification settings; and can even turn off all notifications for a contact. Also, if you close that app and that contact does text you or email you, you won't get an LED or notification (I learned that the hard way!). Be Buzz does have a free version as far as I know. I get that's a lot of work just to mute a notification, but it's a great app for notifications, so I highly recommend it, even if you won't use it for muting a contact's notifications.
