So the z10 has up to 32 gb in expandable memory... So if i inserted a 64 gig sd card, would it only recognize 32gb of it or not at all?

It recognizes 64 gig cards. I have a scan disk class 10 card and the z10 recognizes it. Best to format the card in the phone for best results.

Yes. 64GB for a total of 80GB.
