Cracking noise from top area of the Z10

Okay guys, this is really weird. I just played around with my Z10 and put the top area against my ear by accident. Then I heard a very very gentle cracking noise. Like you're holding some jumper cables together. It's definetly not from loose parts but very likely an electronical issue. I can't tell where it exactly comes from but probably from the ear speaker. And this only happens when the device is locked. If the display is on or the device switched off, the sound is gone.

So I wonder if your Z10 has the same problems.

Just tried this on my phone and definitely don't hear anything. Do you have a case on your phone? Perhaps if it's a tight fitting case it's the case making the noise. Anything connected to the auxiliary port? Was the phone near any other electronics (specifically speakers) ?

probably from the plastic battery door bending?

There's no case on the phone, nothing connected and the sound is still hearable without the battery door, even in areas where are no electronics and no wifi signal etc.

As soon as I swipe up to unlock the screen the cracking noise is gone.

And yes, my roommate can hear it, too. ;)

There's a thread on this a while back. It is apparently the way the auto focus lense in the camera is mounted. If you tap on the camera with your finger you can really hear it. Also, if you don't have your back cover on tight, the NFC contacts do rattle around

My back is on correctly and I still hear the nfc rattle but it doesn't bother me. As for the cracking sound I hear it too and it's I believe just the speaker frill or the top bezel. My nx4 did this also, just stray from moving your phone a lot when you're talking to someone over it.

That's weird, I don't have that. I only hear the "Rattle " when I put the phone down or actually tap the back with my finger. But if I actually shake the phone I hear nothing. I've gotten used to it lol
