So sorry for your loss. I shall set my BB flag at half-staff.

Has anyone seen these BlackBerry Z10 tests? Other than some minor case damage, I thought my little bundle of joy was practically immortal.

Sorry for your loss. Does the screen still work? I dropped my S3 so many times and my screen doesnt look nearly as bad (and it still works - just running the spiderman app now ) Makes me not want to ever holster my Z10.

Really? It makes total sense. I have done this with an older Nokia.
It would have made sense if that had been mentioned first.

However OP's story changed; originally he was implying that the damage was from it falling out of the otterbox holster.

After he got called out on it he changed his story: he now backed up over it.

Changing the story like that kills his credibility.

Looking at the damage on the phone, it looks like it took three hard impacts. I believe the OP is still not being truthful.

Call BlackBerry see if u can get a replacement screen or phone the glass should never shatter like that unless it was under extreme circumstances.

No, it didn't "drop" out of your holster.

    It jumped!

I can believe the OP if the phone was face down on a gravel driveway or poorly maintained local road.

No, no its not. After reading the entire thread (to my post) and seeing how many posters are posting that either a) the Z10 can't handle a fall or b) the Otterbox case offers no protection, I'm left shaking my head at the vagueness of the original post. Even after the original poster corrected his story on page 2 and other posters have brought up the corrected story in subsequent posts, new posters not bothering to read the thread are still commenting on how delicate the Z10 is and how useless the Otterbox case is. Had the original poster stated in the original post that the phone landed more than likely face down on an uneven surface and was proceeded to be run over probably twice, than the tone of the thread would be more of a user error than a faulty product (Z10 or Otterbox).

I have dropped my Z10 more times than I care to think about, with and without a case, and it is thankfully fine. I have dropped it with the Flip Case, Leather Holster, Case Mate Brushed Aluminum FX case, Otterbox Defender and just the other night at the hospital I dropped it with my brand new Incipio DualPro Shine Hard Shell Aluminum Case and not a single scratch on the phone. So, yes, the Z10 can survive a moderate height fall on various surfaces. Would I recommend it? No, but it happens and my phone has survived all falls to date.

I have the Otterbox Defender on my Z10 and have never had it fall out of the holster, even while running. If you take an extra second after putting the phone in the holster to ensure that the bottom is correctly aligned, the phone is safe and secure and won't fall out.

Looks like three impacts from an object similar in weight and shape to that of an iPhone 5. This may very well be the first case of BlackBerry murder.

I've had it fall out multiple times. All getting in or out of my vehicle. The holster bumps against the door frame of the car and the phone tilts and falls

I guess that's your bad luck then as I've tried to get mine to fall out of the holster and it just won't.

Who cares if the poster is truthful as to what happened? The phone is damaged.
I would contact BlackBerry and see what replacement parts might be available or go to carrier if you had insurance and swap it.
