I know when I got my PlayBook it would frequently say "5% remaining" or something like that and I'd just keep using it. Not long after it would be back to 20% and slowly count down again from there.

Could the Z10's "poor battery life" be due to a battery meter that hasn't had much of a chance to calibrate correctly?

I've used mine a little on the web today and had a 45 minute phone call and it's already blinking 10% battery remaining at me - been off the charger since 9am and it's now 5:15pm

I've got some music playing on the speaker and just turned on WiFi and bluetooth. Hopefully that will drain the battery quickly or the meter will figure things out before I stick it back on the charger.

IMO, a phone should be able to handle 60 minutes of talk and some light web browsing during the day, maybe take a few photos too. Or is that just a crazy wish?

    It's possible.

It is certainly possible. My 920 would sometimes show 0% yet keep working for another 10 min. Other people had even longer periods of use after seeing 0%
