Recently I was pleased as punch to get a 64gb microsd card from ebay very cheaply, however the old maxim applies ... buy cheap buy twice ....

    Same as this

I had loads of problems transferring files or playing movies from it, often movies would come up with an encoding error etc.

I just wonder if many of the problems that some have here could be because of perhaps cheap/fake sd cards?

I've now bought a sandisk one from my normal supplier, expanys, as I'm sure of it being a genuine card. Sure I've halved the capacity for the price but I'd rather have one I can trust. I'm sure this time next year the 64gb ones will be far more affordable.

This thread should be a sticky. I swapped out my 16GB class 6, which worked fine in my Bold 9930 for a 32GB class 10 "San Disk Ultra" designed for smart phones and tablets. Several of the apps which relied upon the memory from the Micro SD Card were acting profoundly slow. I had black screens, and podcast app would not load, music would take a while to load, etc.

Since I spent the $29.99 on the card it has been a world of difference.

I think that many of the problems people are experiencing are from cheap Micro SD cards. They are not suited to the Z10.

It's the cheap knock off cards from China that give issues most of the time. I also tried to get a "Steal" from eBay on a 32gig but had an awful experience with it. It would remove songs and pictures from the card at random and overwrite them with some file type that I wouldn't have permission to. Total waste of money... I just sucked it up and bought from radio Shack here in the States and paid a whole 5 dollars more but have a ultra class card and absolutely no issues at all. Don't buy cheap when it comes to memory, it never pans out!

If I buy a cheap 64gb sd, I'd only load 4 gigs on it before losing all my data one day.

I posted this on a thread I created a while back. Cheap sd cards don't work properly on the device. Only name brand cards work properly
