So, the LED is at least capable of different colours? That's one silver lining.
I thought that so hopefully the BeBuzz app that everyone talks about might be able to work. Color id app that i tried does not work, avoid.
I've seen it change yellow when low on battery. I haven't seen it green yet.
bebuzz is confirmed in the blackberry app section of the forums in their bebuzz 6 thread
There is an app called led tester that lets you test the different colours of your led, nothing more but it has confirmed that my Z10 can do red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, magenta and white lights so this looks good for future apps to use these colours.
Mine pulses yellow when charging and goes green when it's done. But that's only when it's turned off.

Just like OS 4.6 up to 7.1.
I hope we don't have to pay extra for BeBuzz 6. I purchased 2 of them when I was using 2 BlackBerries.
Haha! It's BellShare, even if they release it as an upgrade of the old version they may release it as version 7 and make you pay the upgrade fees (about 2.99$ I think)
For BellShare to charge an upgrade fee, there has to be significant updates to warrant the upgrade charge. If it's just little changes to make it work properly on BB10, then they have no
right to charge us. I have no issues paying the upgrade fee if they there are big changes.
That is one thing I like about the iOS store - once you've bought an app it's yours to take to any handset that you sign into. Really with BB would do the same thing.
I've been an iPhone user since 2008, when I charge my phone I usually just leave it charging overnight without worrying of overcharging. Can i leave the Z10 charging overnight without any worry? I will be getting the Z10 when it becomes available here in the US, never been so excited for a phone since the launch of the iPhone 4..
The same applies to BB. It's BellShare who are notorious for charging upgrade fees. I don't have any issues with other apps I bought for BB. Same applies to Android. I have gone through MANY Android devices and have no issues downloading the apps I bought.
Can't see why not. It's using the same battery technology.
wireless gal is correct. Bellshare is the one only app company I've heard of that charges for UPGRADES. It burns me up. All my other paid apps have always transferred to new devices seamlessly. Including paid apps that are available on my PlayBook, I do not have to purchase them again even though OS7.1 and PlayBook OS are 2 totally different monsters. Dumb Bellshare.
I have always left my previous BlackBerries charge overnight and it never affected the battery life. From the Curve 8310, Bold 9000, 9700, 9780, 9900, Torch 9800 and 9810, no issues with battery life on either devices. I can't remember the Curve so scratch that one.
Oh really? I never realised :)
Also Bellshare has the worst customer service! They never reply to anyone. That's probably why they took down their forums.
I love being able to change the colour, the BellShare one is the best one out there (for the old handsets).
Agree with Wirelessgal.. they are CRAP at anything to do with customer service, so I have no idea what country they are really in.
No doubt they will claim that as the Z10 is a new phone on a new platform, then it is actually a new version and not an upgrade.. either way I will still pay it provided it integrates in and does not need to be running to work like the other rubbish on the store.
You do have to question why a company that claims to focus on premium apps for BlackBerry devices had nothing at launch, and has no mention on its site about the new OS.. at least not easily found.
Yup

I've not seen the LED do anything when charging yet. In fact my Z10 is charging next to me right now and is fully charged and there's no light.
I assume this works the same was as with the PlayBook. I noticed with my PlayBook that the charging LED only shows when charging if the PB is turned off.
