In looking through the app monitor, I see that the Crackberry app is using about 480 MB of space, and the Wall Street Journal app 1.3 GB (!). How can this be - they were both small downloads - and is there any way to alleviate this short of deleting the apps?

On CB swipe down from the top > settings > cache control > clear both

Most likely you've accumulated a large cache for those apps. Go into the settings within the app(s) and look for something like cache management, or clear cache.

Thanks that took care of CB. The WSJ app doesn't appear to have this option. Maybe delete and reinstall?

That is the only way folks use to clean up CB before it had the cache clean option. Delete/reinstall.
