Just got my phone yesterday. Bought it off Amazon new. It is the Verizon STL100-4 model. I'm in jamaica on lime network. Got a data plan on there as soon as I got it but I'm only getting edge speeds so I went to the carrier and the rep said it might be the phone. Whenever I chose 3G and 4G I cannot connect to the network. When I select 2G, 3G and 4G the network comes up. But only with edge. Could this be the model issue or specific defects

the model you would want would be the stl100-3, since it uses the 850/1900 bands.

Yes. Lime is a GSM network and the phone you bought is primarily for a CDMA network. I know they're cheap, but you have to do a little research. As RADE posted, there are a bunch of phones and you have to be sure what you're buying. Maybe we need a STICKY to help people sort this? Return your phone and get the right one.
