When you click and hold the chat in the hub, don't you get an option to delete it?

I think it's a virus. Happened to me, and the only way I got rid of it was reinstalling BBM.

That is really strange, OP. I would personally just wipe the phone and start over. I've never heard of this happening to anyone else.

I don't think that it's worth wiping the phone
If there isn't any other solution.. I'll just wait for the next update

This is exactly what just happened to me. It seems to have happened when I tried to delete a chat as the system was marking the last post as read. It wasn't even a BBM chat; it was just a regular text message. I tried all the steps listed above and got the same non-results. The really annoying thing was that this left a permanently unread message in my hub, with the associated blinking notifiication LED, that I couldn't mark as read or delete.

I was resigned to restoring from last month's backup and was going through everything in BlackBerry Blend and Blackberry Link to see what new stuff I'd have to manually restore. Interestingly, I noted that the text message list on Blend didn't include the offending message. So Blend is smarter than the phone. I went back the handset and, although the evil message was still there, I could now delete it!

So it seems that the process of syncing with Blend (or maybe connecting with Link) unwedged something. This is all clearly the result of some beginner programmer not using the on-board SQL database properly - or maybe not even using one at all.
