    I have been trying to backup my wife's Z10 for months, every time it fails. I hoped that the latest update would help, but it didn't. Completely uninstalled Link, and reinstalled and still nothing.

    It just sits at "computing data..." and when I try to do a custom backup, it never brings up options.

    Right before you try, restart your PC.

    While it's booting up, perform a device reset on the Z10. (NOT same as Restart.)
    Hold down the top button. Keep pressing it regardless of options offered on the screen. Don't release it until after you see the red LED.

    Now that both are rebooted, open Link on your PC. Once it's fully opened, connect the Z10.
    If it's still hanging like previously, just wait. Even if it's a very long time. Link is slow at the best of times, so be patient.
