Do you have several apps opened? Did you reboot or added music to your BlackBerry recently? Sometimes a direct app like a power hungry game drains your battery and cause heat, sometimes it is file indexing working in background.
I wouldn't mind about it just now. If this happens all the time, come back to us.
Edit: And to answer your question: There is very very little chance that your Z10 catches on fire. Most likely, if anything, your battery will just drain quickly and cause some heat.

I'd blast with the fire extinguisher toute suite.
Then use tongs to carefully place it in a ziploc bag of water & ice. Seal and shake vigorously.
That'll teach it!
PS I have no idea. Maybe try a device reset if you're so inclined.
Listening to Tunein and posting here.

Well, Tunein uses wifi or cellular network, which is quite power hungry, more if your signal is weak. That must be it.

Tune in and cb both on Wifi

Just as a comparison there are components in a desktop computer that run at 140f +.
Z10 STL 100-3. OS 10.2.0.1791
I take that there's no problem then.

No and if it does get to hot your phone will just shut itself down.
Ok

That'll be destructive. The force of the fire extinguisher pressure will knock the BlackBerry off the table and break it. Skip step one and go straight to the water and ice.

It depends if the Z10 is a she.
Then, you would have to ask Alicia Keys. She's with BlackBerry management last i heard.
Was 'Girl on Fire' still a popular song?
Not sure about your BlackBerry but my iPhone 4S caught fire last week. It was working fine but then when I poured the gasoline on it and lit that match it got really hot and hasn't worked since.

QNX, the Micro-Kernel used in BlackBerry 10 is in use at Nuclear power stations the world over, regulating the heat from the reactors. If it can do that effectively then I wouldn't worry too much about your Battery :)
A reboot would be your best bet buddy. :)
"If you can't soar with the eagles then don't fly with the flock!" (BBM#18)
:) I'm guessing that was a joke, but just so no one is confused...the nuclear power plant code is definitely not present in BB10. The only shared code would be the few hundred lines of the QNX kernel, which is the basis of everything from nuclear power plants to microwaves. That doesn't mean you can plug your microwave in when the power plant control systems fail and use a microwave oven to avert a meltdown.
As to the original question, that temperature will not damage the electronics, but can degrade the battery. I would avoid prolonged operation at that temperature. If you have 10.2, the app manager can tell you which process is using up too much CPU. Sometimes the Hub process gets too power hungry when doing a large indexing job, which leads to a hot phone where no other apps appear to be running. I've also had the Android runtime get hung up, which shows as a spike in the System process but goes away when all Android apps are force closed.
Ignoring all the "intelligent" answers given before, have you:
1) Added a new email account that would be syncing in the background?
2) Loaded a new OS (leaked or otherwise), because that would cause syncing as well.
Also, if you're running current apps on wi-fi, maybe yesterday it was running off of the cellular network. Also, in case the cell service is spotty, you end up discharging more battery power and heating up your phone in the process.
Hope this helps :)

PS: elite1 had the best solutions though ;)
Will check

cut open the battery a bit, throw some water on, and maybe you'll have a fire going.. I've heard lithium ignites when exposed to water.. but maybe that's only with the non-rechargeable type. you can try it and tell me how it goes! :)
No fire suppression app?
Presented by Dr. Emmett Brown on BlackBerry Z41
There should be a few 'fire suppression' apps out there for ios and android.
Search harder. And while at it, i might need to find one from android and sideload it.
LOL..
I had the MacGyver theme tune playing in the background when I read that :) shame really, would be epic!

No I've heard that side loads cause the sprinkler switch to malfunction.

Blast it with chlorine trifluoride. If that can burn asbestos, concrete and sand then it has a pretty good chance of burning a phone.
