    Thanks for your time.

It's actually quite simple compared to doing it the old way. With the autoloaders, you literally just plug in and go... Just download the autoloader for your device (http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=887047), after backing up whatever you need with BlackBerry Link, close link and run the autoloader. Your comp will do the rest. After your device is done, restore your backup using Link. That's it

How long after autoloader closes should it be for device to restart? Quickly or is something else going on with device while it is sitting there with the green light on?

Did you watch the entire load or did you leave it and come back to the green led? Have you tried either Swiping from the bottom as normal or pressing the power on button briefly to see if it has gone into a standby mode?

    Ok,
    0. Download firechest on your phone from BlackBerry world.

    1. Download the correct autoloader (I recommend the 10.2.1.1925 leak) to your pc (running windows, I'm not familiar with Linux)

    2. Back up your data using BlackBerry Link on your computer.

    3. With the phone still connected to the pc, close link and run the autoloader.

    4. When your phone has the green light, turn on your fully charged phone to leaky goodness.

    5. Perform the much debated restore using Link. If you're coming from 10.2.0 or earlier, it's probably best to backup on your phone using Firechest from BlackBerry World instead of Link. If you're coming from 10.2.1.1055 for example, you'll be ok using Link. Either way, before step 1 backup on firechest just to be safe.

You're a noob yet you use Linux as your daily driver? Hmmmm... If our instructions aren't clear enough, I would recommend using the Search function here on CB. There are a few walkthroughs for the process. Good luck

If I've left anything out, someone will no doubt point it out swiftly. I'll post the link for the autoloader in a minute but the one already posted should work fine.

Well considering the fact that they never told us what version of the Z they had, I figured a link to ALL the versions was their best bet, haha

If it works, you can try using Windows in a VM. I know of only one case that a leak was installed this way, however. I didn't mark the post so I'm not aware of what distro was used or Windows version, but I do remember he/she used Virtualbox.
