    Hello,

I have my white Z10, and really love it. Ive been finding more and more uses for it day by day...

Recently, I have been using the camera alot for work and play. As we know you can launch the camera direct without having to unlock the screen. That part works as its needs, press and hold for 5 seconds, or until the timer ring is complete, and launch- great...

When I have the phone UNLOCKED, and am on my main home screen. I should be able to just tap the camera icon on the lower right, and it should launch instantly correct?

It would appear that I have to hold the camera app button down for the 3-5 seconds regardless if the phone is locked or not, in order to get the camera to launch...

Is this a bug, or something that I may have set my mistake?

I don't think it's a bug. That is how it works.

The lock screen is where you need to hold the button. Once past the lock screen the camera icon only needs a tap.

Thats what I thought, Sadly I have to press and hold no matter what state the phone is in....

    Is this a possible setting?

Weird, I don't see any settings that would affect the camera launch from home screen. I can confirm that on my Z10, when I tap the camera icon on my home screen, the camera open immediately, no need to press and hold the camera icon.

Have you tried rebooting the phone via battery pull?

Have you tried contacting BlackBerry customer service to see if there's anything known or anything they can do about it?

I don't think there is a setting at this point. Future request maybe?

    Hi,

I have not tried a battery pull, though I have rebooted the device twice with no change. Trying the battery pull now...

If no changes after the battery pull, I will submit this to BB to see if this is a known thing or not. I didnt see any settings for this either, figured Id throw it out here.
