2248x2248 + - isn't really a phone-camera resolution to sniff at! Does he mean picture detail, rather than resolution?

I hope this matter isn't keeping you up at this un-godly hour!

This one will take off... but what I know is: clean the lens. I believe if you reduce the aspect ratio you increase resolution. When you send MMS phone automatically reduces resolution (if that's what he's judging by). I understand there are a couple of apps that increase resolution?

His critique is relative to pics from prior phones Samsung and lumina

As I stated above, using a 1:1 Aspect ratio for photos gives 2248x2248. You're right, sharing a photo (Facebook, MMS, BBM etc) reduces the resolution of the photo (In some cases, very dramatically)

All in all, picture resolution is governed by the MegaPixel count on the camera in the device. Nothing can be done to increase this on the device without sacrificing picture quality.

You need to compare the original pic straight from the memory card. As mentioned different apps compress them. I have printed VERY nice 8 x 10 pics that look really crisp.

Perhaps he's talking about viewing pics on the screens of those devices? Honestly, not familiar with the various screen resolutions, but to my eye my pics look considerably "better" when viewed on my computer screen.

When they're sent via mms the quality looks terrible on other phones, it looks like they were taken with a toaster.

Correct. That is the original sized image with no compression when emailed.
