Installed 10.1.0.4181 then camera started working.
Then I did security wipe. Even then the camera was working.
Updated to 10.2.0.424 OTA. As soon as device restarted, I got the message that 'Problem related to media license has been fixed'. But when i open camera app, it gave the same error 'Can't be started'!
Please help!

Did reboot several times but to no avail. I even drained the battery and then connected to computer and let the phone start on its own. This solution was suggested in some threads but that also did not work!

The problem with Camera not working is not as big a problem as battery draining out in half the time. Both these problems are connected it seems.

I did all the steps you said, but still no result :/
The only difference was that I didn't use the exact is 10.1 you have mentioned but used a similar 10.1 release...
I'll repeat the steps if you could please share a download link for that particular OS 10.1

I have the "camera can't be started" problem since updated my z10 stl100-1 to software release: 10.2.0.415 / os version: 10.2.0.1767

before completely disfunction , the camera several time cant be started, pull the battery and it works again, but since last week, my camera on z10 is completely disfunction, read in the internet then im doing this:
(already pull battery so many time, so many time restart, so many time erase and format sd card, running my z10 with or without sd card, seeting application permission in camera permission on and off for all apps...not work)

1. press my camera with my finger and tap to my palm thrice (is not work for my z10)
2. reload my z10 os via blackberry link on my MBP, the bb link download the latest official os for my z10 (still the same, not work)
3. side load via chrome browser the camera-10.200.0.65-nto+armle-v7+signed.bar (not work).
4. format and erase my kingston 8 gb sd card (not work)

my two month of z10 stl100-1 camera still can't be started, so i follow the abdul mujeeb step by step but im using the other version of auto loader. lastnight my z10 camera back to normal again.


because so many time attempts, i REMEMBER im doing this steps:

autoload the Z10_3G_10-2-1-1055_autoloader
and my camera is working, and have feature like follow face, but i cant restore my backup data, ( i need my data on my password keeper from my backup file).

so....

the last os that i have on my z10 is os version 10.2.1.1055 the last state when im tyring to fix this problem.

step 1: security wipe and erase and format my kingston 8gb sd card.

step 2: reload my z10 STL100-1 via blackberry link mbp and officially i got os version: 10.2.0.1767 (live in jakarta)

step 3: running autoloader with this version via windows7: (https://developer.blackberry.com/bla...ha_update.html)
with this autoloader for z10 stl100-1 = 10.2.0.1793 , 1.23 GB.

step 4: verifying my blackberry id, to start my blackberry as a blank new device., still the camera cant be started.

step 5: reload AGAIN official os version via blackberry link and i got os version: 10.2.0.1767 via my mbp, and the blackberry link on my mbp directly reload and no need to wait for download the os anymore, cache maybe i dont know, im not the computer expert here.

step 6: verify blackberry id.

step 7: restore my backup data.

step 8: erase and format my sd card.

and thats all, my z10 camera back to normal...

some step is kind of redundant but it bring my camera back to normal.

this is my lil experiment, and i want to share in here .
i dont know when my camera will face the same problem again, we will see and i will keep posting the report...

remember when you erase your sd card you must format it otherwise it will not function.

For what I have read and have seen, this problem is associated with some companies that provide the Services and the adaptation of the OS that each one does.
Here, in South Am�rica, we have this problem with Movistar (Telefonica).
I see some people with BlackBerry 10 from other companies without any problem after upgrading to 10.2
Unfortunatelly I have Movistar, so I have this issue =(

Remove the memory card & load 10.1.0.4189 & update to 10.2 over the air!!! Set the storage for camera as Device and then insert the memory card

Thanks to manonthemoon I found a simple solution that has worked for me. Open Pictures, select More, then select Start Camera. Problem solved.

Do we have a solution on this? Tomorrow I will take to change one device, I make the downgrade, and OTA upgrade, no work for my friend z10, and is like new, no memory card or any card as a matter of fact is full new, even I haven't enter BlackBerry Id

I find that having 1mobile or Blackmart makes my camera malfunction.
Deleting those and some android apps I downloaded from those play stores solves the camera malfunction.

How to Load 10.1.0.4189 where in already loaded 10.2?

I think you can hook it up to the BB Link software and ask it to reload the OS.

Or go to the OS subforum here and find an Autoloader exe for the OS you want and run that. Should be available for download.

Now my Z10 STL100-1 running on 10.1.0.4181, after several time wipe, restore, reload, etc bla bla bla,

i will stick with this 10.1.0.4181 os till there is a new upgrade that can solved my "camera cant be started" problem...

so far my Z10 is doing fine, (already put the same sd card, sim card, testing pull out battery, several time phone restart and camera still working fine).
