Your phone is probably locked, and you are using swipe to unlock. Go into settings and disable Swipe to Unlock.

I've done it once before I had my holster. It was naked in my pocket, and my leg swiped it and pressed emergency call.

I've done that too. Particularly embarrassing since I work for the emergency services.

Yep it can happen going in and out of a holster or pocket. Keeping the swipe to unlock turned off can help. And pressing the top button the second you're not using the phone because the palm of your hand can trigger the phone app or the camera app.

It's the biggest gripe I have about this OS.

Don't use swipe to unlock if you keep your phone, without a case (covering the screen), in your pocket. BlackBerry should advise people to disable swipe to unlock for people putting phone in their pants pockets!

How is this an issue for people? I really don't get it!

I have never had this problem, and I've always used swipe to unlock.

Are people leaving their phone screens on when they throw them in their pockets?

    Because I turn mine off.

I think I know why it happens. There is a bug on the lockscreen due to which at times when u access the lock screen notifications (u have a BBM, u press the BBM icon to see who sent it and what is it) instead of it showing the preview, it automatically performs the swipe up gesture and brings you to your home screen/password screen. Hope I made my point understood.

Have you tried using a flip case. There are plenty of slim ones on Ebay that are good quality and price.

This has been discussed over and over and over again. Don't leave the phone facing inwards to your leg.

Sadly when you walk the vertical sliding motion of the phone again your leg unlocks the phone. This is why most unlock screens are slide a button horizontally. But to enable the sunrise feature on bb10, this is a side effect.

I often wear my phone in my pant pockets and i'm always careful to leave to phone screen facing out since I have swipe to unlock. If you want to have the screen face your leg, the you should disable swipe to unlock.

I like how swipe to unlock differentiate BlackBerry from iPhone, that's why I keep it on.
