    Hey guys,

I bought what I believed to be an unlocked Z10 for my mother for Christmas.
When going into the network connections, it says that the Network is unlocked, or at least that's where I think it said it.

However, I've tried two SIM cards and it won't connect to the network, and I receive the "SIM not provisioned" or "SIM not detected" error.

Does this mean it really isn't unlocked and I've gotta go and get it unlocked then?

    Thanks

    FWIW:

It shows "Network Unlocked" under the SIM card screen. However, on the same screen at the top under "Phone Number" it says "No Information Available" and a button to "Edit Phone Number".

Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Can you take a screen and post it? Obviously don't show the phone number.

Is there a big button in the middle that says "Unlock Network" like mine does below? My phone is locked.

How old is the SIM? You might just need a new SIM card. I've had issues before where everything worked except data - turned out to be the older SIM I was using. Got a new one and everything was fine.

That's the thing. It says "Network Unlocked" and the SIM card I literally just purchased 30 mins ago.

And the phone number doesn't show up at all.

My phone number was in that Black cutout

Verizon is unlocked and all 3 fields show that.

That means your phone is locked. That button is for unlocking. Once you press that button it takes you to a screen to input the unlock code.

What F2 posted is what an unlocked phone would look like. My gfs phone is unlocked and looks the same as his.

That's exactly what my screen looks like too. All three items are "Unlocked". There's no "Unlock" button because the phone is already unlocked.

    Finally got a screen shot.
Everything is set as if the phone is unlocked, because it is.
    Still get the error though

What model Z10, and what carrier are you trying to operate on?

Also, have you registered your Z10 on the network? See this:
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/b...ListHelperImpl

To register a BlackBerry 10 smartphone with the wireless network, complete the following steps:
1.Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull down the quick access menu
    2.Tap on Settings
    3.Tap on About
4.Tap on the Category dropdown menu
5.Tap on Network from the dropdown menu
6.Tap the Action Overflow button in the lower right hand corner marked by three vertical dots
    7.Tap on Register BlackBerry

"SIM not provisioned" means that the sim card has not been activated on the network.

You need to contact the carrier that sold you the sim and have them activate it.

If you can find the time, explaining what "fixed" it might help someone else. Thanks.
