Alrighty, this switch to a z10 has a few things to get used to.

I used to be able to press buttons on the top to switch to the next song, or back, etc without taking the phone out of my pocket and looking at it.

Currently, I can only control volume with keys. is there any way to tweak settings so that instead of volume, it switches between songs?

or can someone recommend an app that has some versatility?

In System Settings > System Volume there is am option for Music Shortcuts. That will let you long press the volume controls to skip songs.

Turn on the Volume Keys Music Short Cut. This enables you to use the volume up/down as forward and back buttons on the music player.

I found however that there is a bit of a lag between the switch from song to song though.

My wish is that there was someplace to put ringtones so they don't play with your music...now *that* is annoying!

I experience the lag as well. I also find that if you let go at the right moment it will still do the switch, no need to wait for it to switch to release the button.

Hopefully BlackBerry will adjust this in the future.

My wish is that there was someplace to put ringtones so they don't play with your music...now *that* is annoying!

There is a half work around if you don't need your added tones for phone calls. Just delete the file extensions from said ringtones then you can use them for text, bbm, email etc without having them show up in your playlist..I agree tho it is annoying

OMG yes this needs to be fixed ASAP!

If you format a microSD card using an older BB device, you get a folder that is labeled as "Ringtones"
Transfer your files to the "Ringtone" folder and they will not show up in the music player.
