I'm looking for confirmation from others that there still exists a Bluetooth audio distortion issue and it's present on the Z10.
I came across this post which reflects the same experience I had on my 9700 and 9810 but there was a workaround.

On pre-OS10 devices the Bluetooth volume could be controlled via the phone and possibly on the Bluetooth device too, and you could lower the volume on the phone to correct it.
With the Z10, when a Bluetooth audio device is attached you see a speaker with a lock over when attempting to adjust the volume so you cannot be lowered to address the distortion issue.

    I'm enjoying the Z10 on AT&T with 10.0.10.88

update: I'm sending BT audio to a BlackBerry Music Gateway in my car and LG HBS700 when on the move. These both are fine when I lower the volume on my 9810 but since I can't do that on the Z10 some music can be distorted.

I have no issues with distortion or volume issues and I use a Plantronics stereo Bluetooth headset on a daily basis.

I haven't had any issues either. I haven't tried with a headset though. Only the BlackBerry Music Gateway so far. The sound has actually been very good.

VW Jetta. Distorted and something even worse. Mine cuts out a lot, like I'm streaming from Russia via the Internet. If I place my hand over the phone it is even worse.

    Distortion fix:

Turn up volume on your phone all the way before connecting to your car or speaker. Low volume combined with you cranking your speaker system up to compensate causes it.

    My streaming fix:

Not sure, but it is streaming to my VW flawlessly now. Maybe another app was causing it or a reboot fixed it.

No complaints with Music now, other than the icon is hideous.

Has anyone had issues with music streaming distortion/cutting out because there is too much distance from the BT device? My 9780 I could stream crystal clear music without problems from as far as 50ft+ but my Z10 starts to have issues from 10-15ft away.

Should be more like 30 feet max. Walls will also affect the range significantly. My headset range in the Z10 is much farther than the HTC One S though.

Not getting this issue using a VM605. Unfortunately as my work car doesn't have a line in port :anger: I can't use a music gateway.

Any distortion I do get with the 605 I can only put down to the insane amount of FM radio stations in my area. About 3 FM frequencies work ok... until I get down the road.

For the built in music app right? I quite like the icon personally. Has a sort of... 80's feel to it. I love music from that decade.

I have yet to experienced e the distortion like what I had with the 9810. It would drop the connection completely before from time to time. Turning off the "Connect to last device Used" cleared that little problem up though. I'll certainly keep an ear out though.

Don't get such experience like that with iBomb and Z10. I can control iBomb volume with Z10 volume buttons.

Yep, maybe that is the problem. I hate music from the 80s. Clothing too.

Should be, but my 9780 had no problems beyond those distances when streaming to a Big Jambox. The Z10 starts to crackle and cut out far less than 10m. I'd be happy if it made it 10m.
