Only noticed it on the long weekend while doing a lot of driving that I don't have the blue tooth audio options like I did on the 9900, 9700 etc.

Previously once I connected the phone to the car for phone use, playing mp3 files just worked when the deck was set to be audio for source. (still does for my PlayBook).

Don't see any bt audio options in the z10 settings anywhere.

On the bright side, the z10 and the PB act the same way for bluetooth audio in my Ford.
There are BT options in the Z10, Under settings/network connections, press bluetooth and you'll get a screen with options and another more in depth configuration choice. I see nothing that might help in your case though.. but you never know.

Blue tooth audio. Am I missing something.-img_00000274.jpg

Is what I get where the 9700/990 would show Headset or similar as a service. Don't see anyway to edit / add either.

I have ford sync, with my Z10 connected via bluetooth, and all I have to say is "bluetooth audio" and the music player fires up and starts playing.. Limited options though, as it will play everything, and unless you have your music set to random already, you can't say play "x playlist" but if you start playing music before you start driving, you can switch to a playlist on the phone

Hmm sounds like yours is exact opposite as mine .. Some screwy stuff with the Bluetooth connectivity for sure .. searches pull up a few variations but no answers

Are you in BT Audio input? My Alpine requires me to use that audio source for anything besides hands free and once that is selected I am able to stream anything from my phone to the deck.

Ya when I use my stereo and use BT, I have to set my stereo to BT input.

Yep I change the deck source to BT Audio.. LOL.. As I said above worked fine with 9700 and 9900. (also with wife's iPhone 4S and a friends droid)

Are there any profile settings on the head unit related to the Z10?

Have deleted both sides many times with phone and head unit reboots in between.
