If you open the phone app, there's an option to block all calls, which requires a password. I never set the pw but I'm getting prompted for it when I try to turn on that option. My guess is that i pocket-set the password at some point, so it's just some random string of characters.

Anyone know if there's a way to reset the password without wiping my z10? I don't think it would be worth it just for that

I think you need to contact your carrier to get it.

I don't really think it's possible to activate a password in your pocket. The phone asks that you enter it twice to verify. What are the chances of that happening?

Good point. But I never entered a password yet there is one

I don't think I need to contact the carrier either. According to the BlackBerry help file it's something you should be able to activate in your phone settings

Can anyone else check if their pw was already set for this field? Open the phone app, swipe down and go to settings -> block all calls

Is it possible it just uses the same pw as parental controls (which I did set)? Or something like that?

It's a reflection of how the z10 succeeds as a mobile computing device that I even want this option. I find that I use my z like a PC sometimes, and when I'm working I don't want my whole computer taken over by a phone call. But I don't want to just ignore the call, because it can be perceived as rude. if i just let the call ring through the caller can assume I was either busy or didn't have the phone on me. And noise is no reason to swipe up and ignore the call either because I can silence it with the down volume button. So I'll be working away on the spreadsheet and I don't want to be disturbed or take calls but I just have to sit there and let the call ring thru. Hmm, maybe I can swipe up and minimize an incoming call and go back to what I was doing? I haven't tried that before

I just checked mine and it asked to the password as well. I tried my device password with no luck. It's gotta be a carrier thing.

Out of idle curiosity, I tried the block all calls feature. I do not have parental controls set, do have the device password protected. I am running the 4633 leak. The password request popped up when I clicked Block All Calls, a couple of interesting things:
The keyboard that popped up was a number pad as if it was looking for a simplified password, which my device password is not.
When I tried typing in my device password, it showed the letters/numbers and left them on display, they did not change to asterisks after a second.
The device password did not work.

    Interesting.

I think it's controlled by the carrier. Mine doesn't work either.

I did a post of this in the forum not even a week ago.. it maybe priced by your carrier to use the function.. Not sure though! And most people are not even aware of this feature.

Through AT&T, you need to pay for a plan (Smart Limits) that will enable the feature to block calls and select numbers. It's all about the money.

Typically many carriers set the password as the last four digits of your phone number.

    Try that.

So its a carrier option I guess. I already pay Rogers $100 / month so I'm going to call them and see what they say

If you don't need data or have wifi connection for data, you can turn cellular services off.

Swipe from top, go into settings, go into network connections, then select mobile network, then turn off mobile network.

Once I am on the call blocking screen, I have a change password option at the bottom. I tapped it and it prompted me for a new password. I too, have not set up a password yet.

Just noticed you don't have a ton of stuff I have on my AT&T device... maybe a different between 10.0 and 10.1?
