ahh the benefits of using a metal as a phone skeleton, when it bends it stays it doesn't flex
Wow! Is this the only one of these type of incidents reported, or is it a problem others have had too? I mean I know that Apple values form/design over function but.....
Thanks!
Thank you for the pics =]
That's still comparing apples and oranges... For one thing I believe the thickness tapers off with the Z10 at the ends, where the iPhone does not.
For another thing, that iPhone definitely has something mangled underneath it, or added on.
Image on the left here is the iPhone5, I believe: http://images.anandtech.com/doci/6330/iPhone5-4216.jpg Note: no crappy mangled plastic stuff like the earlier images suggest it has.
Ok, I'll have to side with Apple on this occasion.
They were holding it wrong. :rotfl:
Folks - if you want to get a feeling for size - check out the HTC 8X. it is about the same dimensions as the BB10 :
HTC 8X: 132.3 x 66.2 x 10.1
BB10z: 130 x 65.6 x 9
The shapes are different - but it is pretty darn close. Screen size is also pretty much the same at 4.3in
The 8X looks like a perfect example of the type of device I hope we never get from RIM, with sharpish edges that would pop right out of my fingers: http://cdn2.mos.techradar.futurecdn....13-580-100.JPG
lol we really are bored with this waiting
It doesn't matter... Z10 > i5
While I do appreciate the comparison pics, it really shouldn't be difficult taking (proper) pictures comparing the two dimensions wise
That's obviously the 4S...
Seriously folks, the foam in the comparison pics is to show how much extra thickness the Z10 has over the iPhone5. That is all.
The added foam makes the iPhone5 roughly as thick as the iPhone4 & Z10.
man... what a trick
I think that looks hawt.
So, it's obviously bigger and a slightly bit thicker.
If that is why the foam is there then why didn't anyone mention that? If that were the case I think they would also take a photo of the foam so we could see the difference.
The iP5 is way too thin and at the rate Apple is going you will be using a phone that is paper thin before too long. There is something to be said for a phone you can actually hold in your hands without dropping it.
I wonder if there has ever been a focus group where hopefully HUNDREDS of people would sit down and hold a prototype device having flat edges or 'sharp-ish' edges, various weight profiles, overall dimensions.
Something the thickness and shape of a PlayBook at the size of a Z10 would feel good in my hand... the Galaxy SIII is TOO thin to hold comfortably and confidently... comfortably and GINGERLY, yes, but if I'm walking and talking or walking and looking at my screen, I want a "no grab-n-dash" grip on it, and not have the thing (as another poster put it) "pop" out of my hands. That HTC 8X looks positively HOSTILE to hold, like the iPad 3 and Asus Transformer Infinity: tapered edges + handheld device = discomfort after more than a minute or so.
true, its not an ugly phone but it doesn't have that BB feel and style to it
They're pretty close, actually, in thinness and size.....

Frankly, once a phone get this thin....it's kinda pointless to make it any thinner. I like my phone to have a bit of weight so that the balance works well in one hand. The plasticky same samsung phones are thin and light, but I find them a bit hard to handle cause of the light weight....
