BlackBerry Z10 Now Available in Pakistan !

The first carrier to offer the Z10 is Ufone

The price actually seems very reasonable considering there are usually no traditional UK/US style contracts.

@ Rs. 60,000 it seems as of today we have a cost of approximately USD 612

yeah this is a lot better than I expected. Retailers like shophive and homeshopping had this for 74 - 78K. I just spoke to the ufone rep they said they are subsidizing it to sell it at a lower price than the retailers. Though it will not be available for 2 more days.

If you have any observations about the reaction to the rollout there, I would be interested to hear it.

What is the Blackberry marketshare like in PK prior to BB10?

It is bundled with BIS package @ PKR1,000/month and PKR1,500/month. The latter is the Enterprise package. Quite unfair when it can run w/o a BIS.

LOL @ extremists BBM-video-ing each other, pretty sure they have fancier gadgets to do that already. Maybe BBM would be just too backward for them *gasp*

@stberry, what's the point of 4G LTE in Pakistan? :P
The device is available in all its glory, the networks do not support it!

The surprising aspect is that of all the telecoms here only Ufone launched it and even they are not marketing it well. Mobilink Indigo that offers premium BIS rates and services is now endorsing Lumia for business. Not sure how that works w/o Balance, Hub, LED indicators, etc. etc.

Well I got know about it in from a half page newspaper ad so not sure about the marketing. Though its a lot less than previous phones/launches. As for other carriers they might have it but what ufone does is that it pays BB to be the first to launch. This way they get exclusive advertisement rights for a month or something. I remember when Torch was launched ufone was the only one advertising it and saying it was exclusively available with them and I got mine from Telenor

@umaima i'm not talking about 4g support in pak.....actually their were rumours that blackberry would use different processor in sub-continent that will not support 4g and make the battery and cost more efficient!!
60k is much less than 480 pounds !!

There is one model that uses a different CPU and which does not support LTE. It uses a TI OMAP processor.

I don't think it will be 4G LTE and would probably come with the OMAP 4470 processor. But that was the plan for the international version from the start and doesn't necessarily make it cheaper. from what I read the snap dragon might offer a little better battery performance (without LTE) plus the added option of LTE. OMAP actually has a slight edge on GPU side but more or less the performance is the same and roughly so is the cost. My hunch is the that the version ufone will carry is the same as its parent company Etisalat in the UAE but I won't know for sure until I meet someone that has the set or 1st March when I buy one

The iphone 5 is roughly 70K or so in Pakistan currently. So this is about a $100 or so cheaper than the iPhone.

That's the equivalent of $600 Australian. Very very good price. I'd be happy if it landed here at that price!

That's a terrific price. If only the relation between two countries were good, could have saved 6-7k. Aman ki asha
