Hey guys, i'm about to buy a new phone on pay as you go which I will be using for the next 9 months or so, its between the iPhone 4 16gb or Blackberry z10 16gb (memory is expandable as far as i'm aware). I know this is crackberry so i kind of expect a slightly biased opinion , i have been a blackberry user for the past 4 years (bold,torch,curve, you name it!) and i would like to know if its worth making the jump to ios now, many thanks!

I switched from the 4 to a z10 and the speed increase was noticeable. the z10 came out a year ago, the 4 came out 4 years ago. It shows its age.

Definitely go for the z10.

As mentioned above, the iPhone 4 is an older device than the z10.

I owned the iPhone 4 for a few months but I just didn't like it, its slow compared to the Z10 and the screen is much smaller. the virtual keyboard was also an issue for me as it was too small. The z10 screen size is perfect and the virtual keyboard is superior than that on the iPhone 4.

Seeing that you are a previous blackberry user, you will NOT LIKE the way the iPhone handles email/attachments/etc...that was the thing I hated the most; I could not get adjusted to the way iOS handles email. I am back on my z10 after using many different phones including the iPhone 4 and if you look at my signature you will see what phones I've used.

The z10 will be a better bet for long term as the iPhone 4 may not make the cut to get the next os update. Bb10 is still maturing and the z10 will more likely receive the updates coming. You have hopefully done the research of z10 having expandable memory in SD slot compared to none in iPhone 4, as well as removable battery, android app support and nfc and Dlna.

Just my opinion and feelings, get what suits you best, the z10 did for me.

I am by no means an expert, but I have had over 25 different phones in the past few years alone. I buy and sell constantly on Ebay for my own personal use. I had the iphone 4 three times and I am currently on my second Z10. You will not be disappointed with the Z10. The iPhone is a bit too old and sluggish nowadays. With the introduction of ios7 the phone struggles as well. I like the Z10 from Verizon with the stock operating system, I absolutely love the phone running the latest 1925 leak! It's a no brainer that the Z10 will out perform any iPhone, especially an old 4.

In the UK, the Z10 is almost 200 pounds cheaper on Pay As You Go ... there really is no contest ... Z10 wins on every count ... unless there is a particular application you need that only runs on iOS.

And even at that, I bet you can find a BlackBerry native equivalent or you have the option of installing the latest 10.2.1 leak. 10.2.1 will open up direct access to a majority of Android applications.

I have some family members who were blackberry users and jumped onto the iPhone bandwagon. Needless to every time they see my Z10 they always say how much they miss BB and that the iPhone is not what it's hyped up to be. You won't regret your choice!

Z10, no contest. If this was an iPhone 5s it'd be closer but the iPhone 4 is old, old, old. The screen is smaller, not as sharp, and apple probably won't even support it much longer.

The Z10 is fast, bright, clear, and will be supported longer.

All depends on your preferences really - do you use a lot of apps that currently aren't available on BB10? Then go for the iPhone l, if apps aren't a problem then 100% I would recommend the Z10!

The the iPhone 4 is a few years old already, while the Z10 is just under a year old and has hardware comparable to other smartphones.

The main thing you have to consider is the apps... if you want a bunch of apps, even the older iPhone will have more to choose from. Other than that, the Z10 is better all around.

Imo if you want phone to be a phone and occasional Web browsing then z10, if you want something to fill a gap for 9 months and fit into your life style socially ie music streaming, mp3s, apps etc to join in with others then iPhone.

Look at what you need, ie a life style companion or a device when you need a device, each option presents it's own pros and cons.

I think this is bad advice... why spend over 200 pounds more for an outdated 2 year old phone only to be used for a 9 month stop gap. The Z10 can stream music, play MP3s, use social media applications and run a large variety of native and Android apps. If the OP wants a 'killer' app that is only in iOS then I would say go for a newer iPhone 5 but the price difference would be even more exorbitant.
