Do you have an SD card in the phone, this happened to me when I put a 64 gig card in and filled it up?

Go to settings, and select app Manager, then Device monitor.

Is there any apps running that should not, and most all of the ones that are running should be showing idle for cpu usage. the System usage should be bouncing between 2 and 4%. It can spike to 20% from time to time but only for a split second (typically whenit goes fishing for some messages).

Only apps that are open should be headless ones (ie Facebook, BBM, Hub ...etc), and if non of those apps are in active panes they should be idle.

Also, are you in area with a strong cell signal? another area if issue is if you have LTE on, but have poor LTE signal, but strong 4G, you can get drain. I always tell folks, turn LTE off.

Is the card close to capacity, have you added anything recently?

I would try taking the card out for a bit and see if the problem goes away, if it does I would suggest backing the card up and reformatting it and then restoring the data.

Got to be worth a try?

All the apps are idle. And my system usage is also around 2.5-3%.
Yess signals are good and i even tried putting my phone on airplane mode still the battery had drained within 2hrs.

It may. You might want to try loading up a new OS if that doesn't work

Maybe the airplane mode isn't working and the WiFi or Bluetooth is stuck on. Try cycling those.
Also you didn't say if you tried a restart.

    Try a restart:

Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black, keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work. In that case, Press and HOLD the Power On Button until you see the LOGO as above

Do this 3-4 times and report back. I've done it and I can confirm it works! Fully charge the battery... drain it till it's dead empty and repeat 3 times. And from then on always charge fully and kill it fully.

Battery health might be insanely low cause of random charges through the day!

If anything you could copy what I do... And end up with battery results like this!

How do you view the device monitor? Is it an app or built in?
    01-02-14 05:33 PM
  17. m3ach's Avatar
Its built in but you need to be running 10.2.1.1055 minimum to get this info, it's the device monitor and it is in settings under app manager.

That's good news, I guess you'll put your applications back carefully one at a time now to see if it was one of them causing the problem?

Glad to hear you got it sorted though.
