    Hi all,

I really need help here I'm getting fed up with the quality of the camera while taking pictures on nights out.

I'm clubbing as you know quite dark with some flashing light, i have Z10 set on auto with flash on but it's continuously taking blurry pictures or out of focus.

I'm having to keep focusing the camera using the little box but to be honest even waiting up to 8 seconds for the camera to focus is just too long when you really want to capture a great moment quickly.

Not to mention how blinding the flash is my God that thing is bright but in my eyes doesn't help much in improving the picture quality, rather giving my friends the old Red eyes which the photo editor doesn't even pick up.

    Very frustrating!

    I've attached a few examples.

Just really need help on how to really get the best out of the camera.

During the day it's great but low light in night clubs with object slightly moving just doesn't perform well at all.

Yeah I did I started looking through the pics on the night and was pissed off about the amount of pictures that looked crap.

Try most of the settings really didn't improve stabilisation was the shocker can't use this with the flash on

I just tried mine in a completely dark room and had my settings on low light scene, auto flash, and a ratio of 16:9. I didn't get any blurred pics so try that.

Also, make sure you aren't zoomed in too far on the object(s).

I did start doing that but then it goes back to my point about the phone taking around 5-8 seconds to focus.

Then you have missed the great shot you want.

Not to mention the fact the phone took the photo many times while still trying to focus.

Didn't zoom in at all just waiting for the phone to focus.

That was my next question. Also, are your friends moving in the background while the camera focuses?

Why not try to use the time shift mode and just scroll thru to find the perfect unblurry shot

It really does look like your lens is dirty.

Also, make sure you are not in hdr mode.

:edit: I don't think flash works with HDR. My bad.

Yep, I had this problem too!

I discovered 2 things that were causing this.
1.) It always seemed to happen after I had a few too many.
2.) I learned that if I put my drink down I could hold the phone better.

    CHEERS!!

I would just set the flash to on instead of auto when you are shooting in the dark. Time shift might also work for you but I like the pictures I get with the normal mode. Just hold it steady

I know it's stationary, but taken in the dark using auto flash. Picture was taken in about 2 seconds (focusing etc)

    for concerts & clubbing:

    1. switch to Time Shift mode
    2. choose Night scene
    3. (the flash will be switched off automatically)
    4. drag the [ ] to focus on subject
    5. take a pic
    6. pick a shot where the club or stage lights light up the scene nicely
