BlackBerry should recapture it's core. The z30 could be the phone that people expected the Z10 to be. BlackBerry incent us. Partner with B&W for a premium travel headset sold st a discount to bb10 users . Allow a trade in for Z10 users. Create some buzz by showcasing it in the wild with existing customers.

Z30 is too big for me. I don't think a lot of people would buy a phone that big. IMO, the phones people should have migrated to are the Z10 and Q10. They are great phones with arguably the best operating system on the market. However, BlackBerry did a poor job of marketing and didn't reach the consumer market in an impactful way.

There's still hope for the BB10 devices, but BlackBerry needs to step up their game big time.

I like your thinking. sell, sell, sell. Unfortunately I don't want a Z30. Phablets are not my style. I want my Z10.

BlackBerry need to do their selling in the app store for me. That's there revenue steam which need some focus for the Z10 owners.

Blackberry must reward loyal customers MUCH MORE. Why giving free apps(25$) for canadians? Why not giving free apps to people who bought BB10 phones and playbooks?????Give us reductions for new devices?

Z10 is perfect, not as big and bulky as the Z30, but can do everything I would ask for.
I'm even consider buying a 2nd Z10 as backup, now where the prizes dropped down for it... like getting a flagship for the prize of an entry level device... ;-)

More like $500 cash back, waste 549 on a PB and 699 on a z10 so $100 cash back on a z30 is nothing.

Usually deals like this are worked through the carrier. For example, here in the USA I got my Z10 for $100 off the discounted carrier price of $299 by trading in my old 9800. That was back in June.

I don't think BlackBerry sells direct to the consumer. Now if I could get $299 from the carrier/BlackBerry, I might consider upgrading, depending on the final price of the Z30. I would also have to play with one to see if I like the size. I am quite content with my Z10, but if the Z30 is a noticeable step up, I could consider it.

Z10 is pretty much EOL, Z30 will sell even less at a high price. I'll wait a little bit when they're free and get one for cheap, that won't be long. I'd like to try the larger screen for sure, but I'm not going to pay a premium for a device from a company that announced they're leaving the consumer market and in all likelihood not going to make phones anymore. The Z30 will be under $100 very soon. That's my plan.

The way I see it is that they are writing off the value of the inventory. This does not mean that they take the phones and bury them in the landfill. What it does mean is that they can offer these phones free to the carriers. Let's wait and see what transpires.

The point is to bring more people to the platform. Not just sell devices and definitely not from the wallets of those who already opened them. It doesn't make long term sense. I'm sure there may be a few Z10 users who will get it but what we need to see is better marketing to attract new users. Z30 is coming to market with plenty more games than the Z10 did. There is one incentive. It is a good looking device that few people will have. So you have that exclusivity factor. It's big so people will notice it. Larger user base makes it better for all of us including current Z10 users.

- perfect screen size
- higher ppi

There's really nothing the Z30 has that would make me want it over my z10.
