You should name a few notable apps they have added.

I've been noticing the same thing. Discovery Channel just launched a nice native app the other day, and today Crackle released their native app.

Songza is working on a native app too, which I'm looking forward to. Slowly but surely, I guess..

Only if you're in the US (for the most like CNN, Crackle, and Discovery). I'm in the Middle East so yay.

Hmmm, the only new apps I see, on a regular basis, are map apps. Lots and lots and lots of map apps. I did get Crackle though so that was good. But again, there are lots and lots and lots of new map apps. Did I mention that there are lots of map apps?

For the record, in BBW underneath the New arrivals category, when I checked at 11:16 pm, PST, July 1st, from Canada, I had to scroll through 65 map apps before finding the first non-map app. And this non-map app was one of the high quality Version 1 apps that populate BBW - high quality in deed <---- sarcasm

Thankfully, with people posting about apps on Crackberry, I can find the new good apps. As if you rely on the what's new section, you'd be left with the impression that the only apps that exist for BB10 are map apps.

I disagree generally but any increase we've seen will stop now I expect. Any developer who wants to make any money will be deserting the platform. There's just simply not enough BB10 users out there.

Watch ESPN? Nope? Netflix? Of course not. Instagram? Ha! Vine? Not. Hulu Plus? Nope. Skype? Hardly. [Insert Name of Bank Here] Mobile App? No, sir. Plex? Only on the doorstop known as the PlayBook. [Insert Name of Newspaper Here] Mobile? No chance. Firefox? No way. Google Maps? Puh-leez. Real Racing 3 or any one of countless other games? Come on.

Hey, but there's the Discovery Channel app!

This thread is not about what is missing. Not everyone uses those apps you listed.

This thread is simply stating what is happening. It may not be the apps everyone wants but it is definitely improving and growing.

I agree with the OP but this topic is subjective imo, most of the apps JasW has mentioned I have side loaded and it only takes a few minutes. I really don't care because I used to have an android and I would always mod every phone to use certain apps too so to me sideloading is not a hassle.

Way too broad of a generalization.
Might be the case for some, but there's a difference in practice to your theory.

The hole left by some apps makes an opportunity for devs that want to grab it. If their app happens to have difficulty being compatible with BB10 platform, then it's probably hard to make a business case.

For many devs, BB10 presents a niche market.
The chance to be a big fish in the small(er) BB10 pond could be very lucrative. They'll still make just as much either way from iOS & Android; with BB10 they can make more.
