I am using z10 100-1. The proximity and light sensor works fine in the morning time. It passes the the blackberry virtual expert test, but in night time or dim lightning or in dark room, it does not work, the blackberry virtual expert fails the test. Due to which the screen brightness is very high which hurt my eyes. Any fixes for this?

You have checked your settings? Try a reboot/restart and see if that helps. The proximity sensor should be different than the light sensor.

I am talking about a function in settings menu that can make use of this light sensor as stated not about a light sensor test. Is there one? automated brightness adjustment in the settings

I bought this phone a week ago, first 2 days it was fine. But I installed an update from blackberry world for android(which solved the issue where android apps did not uninstall). Since then I am facing problem. Now again the problem started sensors are not working, it is showing failed in bbve app, and the brightness is increased which hurt my eyes.

You may have no choice but to try an autoloader to reload the OS. this will delete all your data in the process, but it will fix any issues you have that are related to a software problem.

For the record, all BlackBerry 10 devices have autobrightness ALWAYS ON. There's no switch, it's always on.

that's what I was saying starting with my first post. so how do you want for the screen brightness to be adjusted so it doesn't hurt your eyes if there is no such thing? you would have to do it manually right?

Yes I will keep the brightness to minimum, but what I am saying is the light sensor show know that I am in dark environment and it should adjust the brightness accordingly but that's not happening. And the total weird part when I test the sensors in morning it will work fine the test will pass, but in the night it doesn't work weird as ****.

I used autoloader to reload the os but still I am facing the issue. It may not be a hardware problem because sensors work perfectly in morning. How ever I found a temporary solution to reduce the brightness I should remove and insert the battery again.

I am also facing the same problem, the temporary solution is to remove the battery and reinsert it. This method is working for me though, it may or may not work for you.

Tried this method with a battery - unfortunately does not solve this problem. In any case, thanks for the advice.

I found another method but sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Download my device from play Store or from any where. Click on the hamburger menu and goto sensors. Here tap on the light sensor first and then proximity sensor. Then you will see Red light in the proximity sensor which means it is working and the brightness will ho down automatically.
    This is the app

Click on the icon in proximity and light sensor.
