All you have to do is turn it in. to my understanding it runs in the background doing all the backups and what not that we had to configure before.

Everything you said is correct except that the backup feature hasn't been implemented for BB 10 yet.
..and likely won't be. With BB10 and QNX, everything is backed up, including apps, and anything else that is on the internal storage on your phone. In reality, one could have up to 16GB of stuff to restore. The BB Protect servers would not eb able to handle that level of traffic. Heck even if every user only had 2GB of data that is backed up, that still would overload the server.
I doubt that we are ever going to see an option for remote backing up.
I thought BP (as in my 9900) really only backed up settings, emails, sms, etc. which doesn't come close to a GB measure. Does that mean there is no way to recover that data?
