I wonder what equipment BlackBerry provide them with other than phones for the drivers.

Some good advertising, especially as F1 is a global event (excluding maybe the US).

On a side note: anybody else annoyed by the sound of the new engines? I once had the pleasure to watch the GP in Singapore and the sound of the engines was tremendous. The new engines sound like a middle class car...

Yep, smaller, turbo-charged V6 engines are definitely not as nice to hear as the larger, naturally aspirated V8s and V12s that they had in years past.

Yeah, went to the Spanish and British Grand Prix last year and going to the Spanish again this year, a bit concerned that the spectacle will be diminished by the lack of engine noise.

Will still be rooting for Lewis and the boys though.

I like the quieter engines, obviously they don't sound as smooth as V8s but the sound is richer and you can hear tyre lock-ups on TV much better. I don't know what you mean about a middle class car, I am unaware of any middle class cars powered by a turbo charged 1.6 ltr V6 revving up to 15,000 rpm.

Saving 30% fuel each grand prix is also very impressive considering the cars are not that much slower.

F1 had to become relative otherwise the manufacturers would have been gone for good. Looking forward to hearing the Honda next season, each of the powertrains have a much more distinct sound (it used to be just Ferrari that sounded different on TV).
