I have, it really is counter-productive. Why look for an icon when you could just perform a swipe up and to the right?

Exactly. What were they thinking? This defeats the purpose of Peek function arguably one of the best features of BB10.

It is basically adding the number of "icons"... it may not be important to us but it is important to others...

I deleted it along with the SMS icon. Both are redundant to me.

If I do delete it, is there a way to get it back if I wanted to?

And i think it's even worse the phone, camera, and search icon, all three of which are undeletable

If you know the name of the bar file, using Darcy's tools, you can extract the "hub" bar (what ever it is called) from an Autoloader of your OS. Then it can be sideloaded back.

I know at first you think that icon is useless, but I figured out a great way to use it. I set it on its own app page at the end of my app drawer, this way I get a clean view of my wallpaper and immediate access to the hub if I get a message. I can swipe or press the hub button. Works great.
