I think blackberry should release a higher mA battery for z10. I would buy one immediately.

I want one with clips that let me attach directly to a car battery that I will lug around in a backpack.

Buy a spare, carry a charger or try the 3rd party large capacity batteries on ebay. I personally get more than 24 hours out of it and even if it was 12 hours I'd be happy still.

The fact is the battery can't hold any more power without getting thicker or larger (like Z30). A larger capacity battery from BlackBerry will likely never happen.

Q10 has smaller battery but it has a higher capacity. The size of battery is not that relevant actually. It all depends on how the inside is engineered.

The q10 lasts longer due to the smaller low res screen. Screens usually gnosh on battery life hard core.

False. Size is relevant unless you are changing the battery technology.

If Mugen Power could only come up with a 1900 mAh battery with the same size, that is as big as it gets without changing the back cover. They are the best at this sort of thing.

Snap one of these silicone babies on the Z10's and have an instant 1500 mah battery that charges up the phone by pushing a hidden/recessed button on the back just below the blue led lights. Tap the button anytime without starting the charge to show 1 to 4 lights of power left. No, I don't work for "Power Skin", they just work. BTW the phone and charger together charge up with one stock Z10 charger simultaneously. Cost about $50. I got 3 at once for $120 at T- Mobile.

1500mAh without considering the power loss and the fact that the phone may be in use whilst charging. Buuuut you can take it in and out with ease, so that's a plus!

    And it looks pretty.

I swear the same people take on new handles and repost the same threads, and sometimes posters do the same. LOL

Okay, back to the battery wars.

    (1) Z10 Battery sucks for a sm designed to pull BB from the ashes...huge mistake relative to minor cost savings.
    (2) YES, BB recognized this deficiency and partially corrected with 15% larger Q10 battery (albeit still too small for heavy OS10 usage) and 25% larger Z30 (which also has more need w/bigger screen).
    (3) NO, too late for BB to do anything with Z but look to after-mkt as posted herein, and since release of Z10 in March, for larger cap. battery (and new back plate to accommodate) or charging stick...or, of course, never venture far from a plug.
    (4) NO, the battery technology will not allow more power into the dimensions of the current Z10 battery slot. NO, the Q10 battery isnt smaller, or same size, but does have more mah roughly proportionate to its greater size. (BTW, This is not a true linear function.)
    (5) Finally, there are some 3000 threads on the battery and most contain techniques to milk 6-8hrs or more. (I could repeat, as I even wrote some myself but simply go into all the functions and apps and turn down/off/remove until you are satisfied w/the battery longevity to functionality tradeoff ratio.) If you are a truly heavy user, it is impossible to get 8hrs unless you shut down/off most if the OS10 benefits. (Remember, however, there isn't a sp on the mkt that can get much over 8hrs of heavy use.)

Finally, I presume that you are a distress sale/ purchaser of your Zed. Congrats and good luck!

Agree, I don't get more than 5-6 hours of heavy usage even after all the tips I see on this forum

It's actually ridiculous for such an awesome phone

Interesting, this may be the best route to solving the Zeds under-powering and to finally realize more OS10 features. Any negatives relative to other after-mkt solutions??
