My 16GB Z10 is almost full on device memory and hardly anything on my 16GB card other than photos, music and videos.

What else can I do to have more device memory available?

Don't think it will be able to make it through the 25 days of 'BlackBerry'mas

Well, as long as you have downloaded the Freebies, they are yours and you can UNinstall them to make room for more and still REinstall them later. Just make sure to read BBWorld - you do NOT want to permanently DELETE them (unless you are sure you never want them again).

Yeah I'm having the same issue. I'm wondering how easy is it to clear the device memory to at least half of the total.

you can try using bbhtool to shrink the os, but i don't know if you can do that on a "10" device...

Assuming this did work (which it doesn't) the BlackBerry 10 device, in this case the Z10, will re-download all the missing bar files.

So are you saying that since the Z10 comes with 16 gigs, everyone will at some point experience this same issue? Do they actually make a Z10 with twice the device memory of this one? Maybe I screwed up buying one with so little memory. Smh

16 is it, unfortunately. I have heard that depending on what O/S you are running, can change things a little in terms of memory. Correct me if I am wrong. I don't know where some of my memory is also, as I only have one extra app running and supposedly I have pics on my device, which I do not, that seem to be taking up space, but they are no where to be found, as I moved everything over to my memory card, as the system, by default saves pics to the internal memory and you have to change it

It's a shame this appears to be an issue that can't be resolved soon enough. I did the same as you but there is some other place where all this data is on the device that we can't see and it is f***** up. Maybe one of the developers can figure out a quick fix as I'm convinced that these guys must have much more use of their phones than I do but don't seem to have an issue like that.

I already did. I have a 32 gig. The issue is with the device memory being almost there to full capacity, even after switching every possible thing to your memory card. There seem to be stuff stored in the device memory that's unreachable where you can't possibly fix by cleaning/moving or deleting unnecessary stuff.

Actually, even if you DELETE them, you can still install them again for free, cos you've already paid for them..

A 64 SD has nothing to do with device memory no matter how you look at it, in spite of moving everything you can to your SD, it's the device memory in question

This isn't even relevant to the original poster's issue. It's his device memory that is low. The only stuff you can move to an SD card is his media...not apps.

Yes it is relevant... if you even read his post correctly... he has photos... music... etc on his device storage... that can be swapped off to relieve space for other applications

Edit... Nvm I read it wrong it's on his sd card already actually

Well that's why I think it's a different issue. Can it be a corrupt file or files causing an overload of the device memory? Also since you mentioned apps I have 95 apps and maybe that's the issue then. I'm running 10.2.0.1047 on the Z10.

10.2 and up don't push back deleted apps anymore.

And it is possible to shrink OS files, but be cautious.

10.2.0.1047.? You definitely need to upgrade your OS. If you don't want to try the new 10.2.1 definitely go up to 10.2.0.1809.
You will see a big performance improvement.

Unless you have some huge apps downloaded you shouldn't be over 10 gig on device memory
