    Quick question.

    My wife has an iPhone and she just downloaded BBM for ios. She told me this morning that there is no way for her to know she has received a message in BBM unless she opens the program.

    Surely this can't be the case? Isn't there some kind of notification for BBM on ios?

    When I send a bbm from my z10 to my parents iPhones it has a notification.

    OP = That's not correct information. You get a little number over the icon letting you know there is a message and you also get a tone alert.

    I am not getting either an icon or a sound alert. Unless I go in and check I don't know I have a message. BBM also crashes if I try open contacts. Have deleted and reinstalled - no luck.

    There's an update. Ios did an update that causes bbm to crash. Bbm has an update for that too as well so download it again.

    My Wife has the same problem. iPhone5c on 7.0.3 with the latest ver of BBM

    Also, my messages don't deliver to her until she opens the app. I checked her Background Refresh setting and everything looks fine. Weird...

    Yep, it's the ios version 7.0.3 update that causes the crash.

    This was a good thread to find. Some of my iOS friends who never used a BlackBerry before, download BBM upon my suggestion. They started saying they didn't see a notification unless they open the app, which of course sucks.

    I'll let then know there is an updated BBM version for iOS.
