The other day there was an outage on bbm buy wasn't listed anywhere so I tried searching the forums and found that if you use the continue option even though it says your contact list would get deleted that it was ok.

Not sure why i went against my judgement and tried that but sure enough bbm worked but all my contacts are now gone.

I can't seem to restore my previous backup either using device switch. I do have ever thing still in tact in my old phone.

Any ideas as to how I can restore my bbm contacts?

I have been unable for restore my BBM no matter how many battery pulls or settings checks I do. I refuse to lose all my contacts so I have avoided that option. Been down near 36 hours

In a stroke of genius I took my 9900 and clicked on each contact then "Show Bar code" then on the z10 I added a contact by scanning the code. Took 5 min of manual Labour which I am sure would take less than than trying to sort it out automatically.

I lsk have to say, new BlackBerry id bs is simply that. BS

Thank you, jetdrivr. My wife's Z10 also wiped its own contact list a day after the BBM outage. You fix saved me a lot of headaches. Thankfully I had not wiped her old BB yet. I may just leave it until I am sure that this one won't screw up again.
