I can get any ringtone from any of the old OS's if anyone is looking for something specific.

I work in mobile forensics and the extraction tools I use also rip all the ringtones from most devices......Top Secret Sh!t, but I don't think an alert is a matter of National Security.....

I've been looking everywhere for these! I'm a current WP user and the recent update just got us custom text tones and I honestly like the BB10 ones, because they sound more natural unlike the ones from Nokia and Microsoft which sounds like glass tings and bells.

I am one of the hardcore that put the old ones on there asap.
While new tones are always fun to try. There is nothing more infuriating than suddenly trying to get used to 10 new tones.
I know what each sound means, the old is6 ones make me feel happy and safe haha

Here you go! BB10 ringtones, I just put the headphone jack into my soundcard. The tones are separated into categories that you can't bring into another (eg. you can't use "Smooth" BBM alert for messages) Now rip it to your OS7 until you get your BB10 too.

They are in order (IIRC):

BBM: Crisp, Present, Smooth
Messages: Bright, Confident, Warm
Phone: Clean, Open, Radiant, Spirit, Zen Spirit
Reminders: Active, Immediate, Tranquil
Text: Brief, Pure, Tight

Edit: Looks like you CAN assign other sounds other than the defaults, but you'll have to root through the folder structure for alert tones.

Edit 2: separated the ring tones into individual files so you can just load them onto your phone... in the "individual rings.zip" file (kinda self explanatory ) The "Essential" alert for BBM Video is the default for everything else (FB, Twitter, etc.)

Edit 3: And no, the ring at the end of the Keep Moving commercials is not in the OS.

THANK-YOU THRICE, LOL, for saving & posting these original Z10 ringtone files many moons ago as the tone and pitch for the new sounds in the BB10, 10.2 update have changed even though they still have the same names! I was looking all over the place for these as my ear just can't get used to the new 10.2 sounds and I was really disappointed, I don't like 'em! And thanks to JMDBERRY for starting the thread... disappointment to resolution in 3 degrees : )

Hi everyone,

One of the users of our app, Beyond Voice Recorder app, passed along a great tip that didn't occur to us but it struck us as a super idea. So, at the risk of being a bit self-serving, the tip is this:

Use a voice recorder to create *personalized* ring tones: for example, our user recorded his young daughter saying "Hello, dad"

It's really easy to do: Just record the sound. Export it to .wav or .ogg

Then go to the BB10 setting and select Notification->Phone->Tone and select Browse Music ... Select the file you just recorded from the documents directory. And you're done!

Custom ring tone that is highly personalized -- easy :-)
