I have 1762 and there are a couple of annoying issues, so I'd like the official. How to I install it, and will I lose any settings?

Is there any compelling reason to load this if I already have 1762 loaded?

If you guys don't have any issues with 1726 then there is no reason to "downgrade."

I for one am having a major issue (Whatsapp keeps hanging/crashing my phone) hence I will get the official OS 1720 and start with a fresh install.

    1) Download the appropriate file for your phone model.
    2) Unzip folder to preferred folder
    3) Backup your phone through BlackBerry Link
    4) Close BB Link, make sure your phone is plugged in, and run the the file (autoloader) you unzipped.
    5) Wait till the procedure finishes and your phone will boot up
    6) Restore via BB Link to recover your data, settings, and apps OR skip that step and start fresh.

So you are talking about the zipped folder not the bar files, right?

What do we do with the bar files? also, after this procedure, do I have to update the OS through the phone or that will be it.

    Thanks

I could be wrong here, but I think the OP is saying that the autoloader file "BB10.1.0.1720 stl100-2 and 3" was created using the above two files (bar files)? I'm not sure.

I JUST finished downloading and installing the file I just mentioned without using the bar files so if you have an STL100-2 or STL100-3 just follow the steps I wrote above and you will be fine.

I was prompted with a 6MB carrier update when setting up my phone after installing the OS but that's it. You will not need to update through the phone after installing again.

That would be the carrier specific updates. You will only receive it IF you are on the same os as the carrier release (in this case 1720), or an older os. If you are on 1762, you will not receive it

Hi, what is this 1720? I thought the update was 1483. (something like that) I have 1762. Do I go to 1720 the same way I got 1762?

Thank you for this post. I wanted the official release so I decided to downgrade from leaked .1762.

Just a warning, I could not restore my backup from earlier today. I am guessing because it is from a higher version. While trying to restore in Link, I got a notification. Something like 'the backup file is not compatible, upgrade your device and try again'. No big deal for me, as I can start fresh, but just thought it was worth mentioning.
