    My friends blackberry is not receiving blackberry services to his z10. He has tried to registering his device and nothing has happened. Could some one help? He is on the orange network

    Hi and welcome aboard.

    Can you clarify what you mean by BlackBerry services? You see, the BB10 devices haven't got service books or BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). Do you mean that his BlackBerry ID isn't working and therefore BBM isn't working? Is his mail not coming through? Can he access the internet, FB, etc?

    What icons does he see on the status bar?

    Hi and thanks for replying. Sorry I was in a bit of a rush when I wrote that. So he his phone was accessing the Internet, twitter, Facebook etc and then suddenly when he came back from work he was not able to browse said applications. The BlackBerry icon in the top left of the phone does not show anymore and also he has the 3g symbol not the 3G. I've suggested a couple of things but non have helped so far. Any ideas?

    He can try rebooting

    Try a restart:

    Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black, keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

    If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work. In that case, Press and HOLD the Power On Button until you see the LOGO as above


    (by the way I literally POURED a vintage pear into the Clean Green bucket this morning (the large one collected by the city). Found it hidden in a corner of my fridge)

    If it doesn't work ask him to go into network settings and see if data is enabled

    Has he tried going to another location to see if he's just in an area with poor reception or that is currently experiencing technical issues? Also, does he receive data when connecting via wifi instead of through the mobile network?

    Yes he has tried multiple locations. I'm not sure where to check if there's technical issues with his area? And yes he can can receive data when connected to wifi.

    Only guessing, but I would think that his carrier should know if there are technical issues in his area. Since he is having problems in other areas as well, though, is his service in those areas also only 3g? Also, in a the same screen as data options are options with respect to roaming and network technology. If he hasn't already an he may want to try enabling data services while roaming just to see if that's having any impact, as well as make sure the selected network technology setting is appropriate (e.g., 4G/3G, Global or LTE/CDMA depending on carrier and available technologies).

    I'm thinking there is a network problem. I'm on o2 and he's on Orange, he lives about less than half a mile away and my BlackBerry works absolutely fine. But then again it surely wouldn't matter as we are on 2 different networks.

    He has tried what you mentioned above and its still not working. I've advised him to go to the local Orange store to see what they say. But if anyone has any more suggestions please do leave them

    I too have suffered loss of DATA. i was roaming in Lanzarote and one minute all was well, bbm/whatsapp were working fine, very speedily in fact and when i next looked all i had was a signal bar which was on full signal. i could only make calls no data not even wifi, in fact i could not connect to wifi.
    i tried battery pull, left it out for 10 minutes, no change. changed location, no change. i left it alone overnight and it came back all on its own.

    i came back to the UK and the same thing happened, i left it overnight and it reappeared..............very odd.

    I have spoken to T-Mobile and they said do all the usual stuff which didnt alter anything.

    Im up and running now but if it happens again what do i do??
