Lost the original charging cable, tried to using a generic usb cable on my Motorcycle for charging the phone.

Worked perfectly with the BB cable, but i guess the non bb cable won't supply enough juice.

Is there physically a difference between a BB and lets say an android usb cable?

There is no physical difference between standard data/charging usb cables supplied with phones, between different manufacturers, and no matter Android or not. However, there IS difference between these cables and so called "fast charging" or "dumb usb" cables as they are advertised, as these types are only for charging and you can not use them for data transfer. Also, and as is obvious from their names, these cables are using dumb usb specification, and are having lower resistance, therefore allowing for more power to pass through them. Based on users feedback, these cables are not gimmicks, and are performing much better than standard data cables.
