Hi Team,

I have a strange problem where the battery usage is really high from the past two days.
Its getting heated constantly, has anyone faced this strange issue?

Have you updated to 10.2.1? If so, that's a likely cause. Takes 24-48hrs for a new OS to settle in.

I love 10.2.1 smooth and everything works great ( may be not that good when you playing game or watching video and receive massage when pop up notification it's blinking (lagging) I think it's something wrong with layers ( z_index from html, what I can guess). Except everything perfect!!!!



*only my wish. Lock screen and pop up notification will have option to scroll to see full massage.

Same with my Z10 ... I have to charge it 2-3 times a day. Gets heated for no reason. In response to my post here, it seems it take a day or two for the OS to calibrate and adjust .. strange .. hope it works.

If after a couple of days you are still down to low single figure hours for battery use and your phone has been slowly roasting itself might I suggest you change the radio bar file. I found 1899 terrible on my Z10, I was down to less than 4 hours life, and the phone was constantly hot. I downgraded to 1056, its well documented on the forum how to do this, and I'm up at about 12hours life now. Some posters will say 12 hours is amazing, which I hope isn't true! I could eak 24hours out of a 4 year old iphone with medium use, I think even with NO use my Z10 would be dead in about 16 hours tops.

No mater the tweaking I just can't extend the life further, might end up biting the bullet and getting a beetle back 4500mah brick battery and extended case lo..

My phone heated up when I used Google maps. I deleted the app. I get about 10-12 hours per charge. Wifi and NFC on at all times. Frequent Web browsing and messaging throughout the day. 1925 leak OS.

I wish that I got the battery life a lot of people are reporting.

My device monitor might once in a while say "1 Day 21 hours" to go... until I actually start using the device...

In reality I'm getting 4 to 5 hours

I see this a lot on these forums! "I get awesome battery life". We need screen grabs and hours quoted. I think 12 hours in medium use us abysmal, but some may think that's awesome.

Awesome would be unplug at 8am and still have 20+% at midnight. I.e.you could go away for a day, forget your charger and actually still be able to function until you get home the next day.

Battery life is not only related to usage and settings (social media and app updating in the backgroud), but also to signal strength and even particular apps. If signal strength is low, then the phone works harder to get a signal. That can be a real battery drainer.

Take my phone off the charger at 7pm and place it back on around 10pm on many days. However there are some days that I need to give the phone a little boost charge during the day because my usage is extra heavy.

On the weekends I spend my time in a low coverage area out in the country. On those days, I take my battery pack along so that I can switch the battery. That usually happens around 2pm.

These new phones with larger screens and with greater browsing capabilities will not have the battery life of some of the legacy devices. The best battery life for a BB10 phone has to be the Q10. Next comes the Z30 and then the Z10. I have no idea on the Q5.

If your battery doesn't settle down, or deleting the offending app(s) doesn't cure the problem, I highly recommend the battery charging bundle. It gives you a second battery fully charged to use that will definitely get you through the busiest of days.

My battery seems to be better. I guess it is settling in after the update. My update is not official I am still on leak. Tmobile

That does seem incredible.

Can you clarify how much you used the phone between midnight at 9am? Or was most of that just battery discharge overnight? I think in standby the Z10 discharges far to much compared to previous phones I've used.

That said 9am to 12pm the next day is brilliant, especially with 35% battery left.

I've been "tinkering" tonight. I got a redeem code from CPW so been downloading some free BB games, and thought heck while i'm doing this why not read up a bit on 1926 radio. So I bit the bullet and installed the most up to date radio. Phone is current "volume button" shutdown, and battery pulled.

Gonna give it a full charge, and let it settle for a couple of days and see where we get!

I've screen capped a number of days power usage for comparison, so i'll report back on my findings (if there are any).

If I can get my battery life up to what you were getting i'll be a very happy bunny indeed.
