Hi there.

I have noticed that when the Z10 initially charges and on full charge it will indicate 100%. However if you leave it to charge overnight, the device will show 95%. Anyone has encountered this? Thanks!

I think Z10 automatically disconnects charging once it reaches 100%. Not sure though.

I had a sony phone that would do that. it would actually discharge the battery by a couple % once it reached full charge and then trickle charge back up to 100. it would go through this cycle all night until I unplugged. I don't think the z10 does this though, because in the morning when I unplug it always shows 100. once the battery reaches full, you would think the phone would be running off of usb power and not the battery.

OP are you using the supplied charger? or an old one you had laying around? I would suggest downloading battery guru to see what it's actually doing. the app logs and graphs several values obtained from the os. this will tell you if it's actually discharging or whatever overnight.

You are correct. You win this Jeopardy round.

The battery charger stops charging once the battery has been replenished although in reality there is a very low voltage trickle charge in progress. Eventually, the trickle charge reaches a level that allows the battery to begin discharging unless the smartphone has been turned off. This is the reason many people notice 99% battery after the charge cycle completes, assuming the battery has previously been calibrated.

Not this again. There are literally like 100 threads on this.

Once any modern electronic device reaches 100, the power control module turns off charging. When it goes below a certain point, it is turned on again, and that's where that variation you're seeing comes from. A lot of developers just report 95+% as 100 to avoid complaints, something I think BlackBerry should've done so we don't have these annoying threads daily.

Thanks for the heads up. Just that I thought I had a faulty battery as I had when I got my 9900.
