I was wondering if keeping apps open like this consumes a percentage of the battery power

    Let me know

    Thanks

It depends on the app but for the most part no.

Using Battery Guru or the device monitor can help you figure out if it does.

As said above it does depend on the App, WhatsApp for example will be updating the Frame every minute or so, which could use a little bit more battery, but nothing noticeable.

Depends on the app and it's load on the CPU and for the most part it marginally dings battery life, and I read somewhere that having an app open in RAM is better for more battery life than opening/closing (loading) an app from internal storage; plus having it open in an active frame looks cool and will open slightly faster
