Ummm no. Gas is a recurring purchase. You buy a spare battery once and that's it. The fingerprint left on your light bill by charging one extra battery is very miniscule.

Finally! Someone that understands.

Has humanity gotten so lazy that the sheer thought of one extra task seems too overwhelming.

Have your arguments grown so weak that you have to resort to making assumptions on my daily routine? As someone who works long hours in a very challenging work environment, I'd be happy if you keep comments like 'lazy' to yourself if you have nothing more reasonable or intelligent to say.
I'm kept busy juggling work and family. Carrying an extra battery bundle, there will be days when I will forget to carry the bundle or forget to charge it. With two phones, car keys, bank token and a wallet in my pockets, I would also much prefer not to have to resort to carrying an external accessory as a 'solution'.
I think people would be happier if Blackberry similarly had a little respect for the hard earned money we put towards buying their devices and put more effort in battery life. There are those who say 10.1 fixed their battery issues with the Z10 but there are loads of folks that haven't seen that improvement. Just the same way as how loads of people claimed OS 7.1 provided stellar battery life on the 9900 while many others like myself still had awful battery life.
Blackberry needs to double down on efforts on improving power management with QNX. The PlayBook reviews all highlighted the fact that the battery life was on the average inferior than many of its competitors

BB10 is built on QNX...Blackberry has had time to work on this. A greater capacity battery would have been seriously appreciated...after the debacle that was the 9900 with its notoriously poor battery life, you'd have thought that they'd pay more attention to detail to battery life.
Like I said, I've 'solved' this problem by getting a Q10. Today, for the first time in 2 years I've had a BB battery that lasted basically the entire day (moderate use, though), but that could be just because of the small, lower res screen and the bigger battery. What happens if the 'Aristo' ships with Blackberry's new found love of anaemic batteries and a 1080p screen?
So, yes, lots of good work done by Blackberry, but lots of good work still to be done.
Something has to be wrong with your work Wi-Fi...
E-mail sync settings can also screw up battery life...

You mean I didn't have to buy a second Z10 to charge my spare battery? Darn salesmen.
Steve, Posted via CB10
I never said anything about your daily routine. You took my words out of context. It's one extra battery. The charging kit would stay at home. This argument isn't going anywhere. I agree to disagree.

But if the battery life was great then people would just find something else to complain about. It seems like they just like hearing their own voice. Agreed one should not have to carry an extra item with them but if you want ANY platform to last all day with ALL options turned on, screen at full brightness you will need to charge it. The stories "oh my iPhone lasts all day or my android last 24 hrs"..... BS, had them all and had to charge them all during the day...whats the point of having these great devices if you have everything turned off.

Way to go!!!
You're quite right here...
It's always a compromise between performance and run time on a single charge.

Another battery post? REALLY?
Batteries suck in mobile devices in general... this isn't just something BlackBerry is struggling with. From what I hear the Q10 has masterful battery life. Even the Z10 has better battery life when compared to an S3 (and probably S4).
At least we have the option of buying a spare battery bundle. I think it's a brilliant idea.
I agree that consumers shouldn't HAVE to buy extra batteries, but it's the nature of the market... NO mobile device with a >=4" screen will have stellar battery life without modification. I just don't get why people get baffled like they didn't expect that?
I found the battery in the 97xx phones that we had some time ago absolutely legendary. The Z I don't find too bad BUT, I'm a bit of a charge freak. We have chargers in the office, the living room, the cars and I charge as often as I can. Just the way I've always done it. The wife and kids not so much. Theirs are basically going all day and theyre ready for charge at bedtime.

Yes, another battery life. Because, quite frankly, battery life tends to rank in the top 3 features loads of people look for when buying a phone.
In my own experience, I've had far worse battery life with my Z10 than during my S3 or iPhone days. Your mileage may vary.
Finally, the Q10 has good battery life due to a combination of a small screen, relatively low resolution (by today's standards) and a reasonably big battery. Most people prefer touchscreens and bigger, more power hungry screen will eventually show up in Blackberry devices. Better a furore is made now and BB gets their ship in order than wait until later when we'll continue getting touchscreen phones with battery life all over the place.
PS: My galaxy S4, higher clocked than the Z10, faster processor, 1080p screen practically goes through a day of use, better performance than I ever saw with my old Z10. Galaxy Note II is a battery champion. Both have screens well over 4 inches.
I just went out with my z10vfor the first time. Un plugged at 6 and it was at 50 percent at 3. LTE was on the whole time even better than my curve would have lasted

We have a number of Z10 phones. We found the battery life is not any worse than most of the smart phones out there. You have to consider this phone has a very powerful processing and is able to do many job tasks at the same time. It is important the phone is properly set up to be efficient.
I can easily get a full day out of my phone when I use it normally. When I am doing heavy usage on the net, many emails, and many phone calls, it is normal the battery will run down faster.
Because I have very busy days, I carry around a travel charger. I also have a charger in each car. I also carry a spare batter with its own charger.
Just get a pocket charger. Lots of good reasons to have one anyways. That way you can charge other people's phones as well.

Imagine if you could Velcro and webos touchstone anywhere and everywhere for cheap and all you had to do for more juice is to lay your phone down on it. INDUCTIVE CHARGING . What a concept.
I've had similar problems with my own battery since getting my phone only 6 days ago... but finally it appears to be to be improving...here's what I did...worth a try...
- disable all notifications as well as disable all notifications in individual programs
- turn screen brightness to the lowest setting
-disable BlackBerry Hub
-disable diagnostics
-disable gesture at start up
- set phone to 3g or 2g
-let the phone battery run out til the phone shuts down then connect to BlackBerry charger
after 4hrs I'm down to 71%....before this I was lucky to get 5-6hrs...
Posted via CB10
let me also add
-screen lock out set to 20 secs
-disable all notifications set to phone only but even disable phone notifications
- disable nfc & blue tooth as well
Posted via CB10
We shouldn't have to disable every feature of the phone just to have a days battery life.
Posted via CB10
Two days ago I signed out of FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, turned off location services, turned my email to "manual" and just with those not updating steady my battery last almost 30 hrs before having to plug it in. Last night I turned them all back on...bang down to 43% in 12 hrs, that's with minimal use maybe 10 calls, and some minor texting.

Agreed....sad but if you want good battery life it's a must.

Honest question, are you being funny/sarcastic? That's terrible. :straight-face: Why even have the phone if you can't use any of the features? How heavy is your usage?
My battery works in a modest use.
My battery lives 7/8 hours. Is it normal attitude?
From CB10 App | Fabio Aliprandi on BlackBerry Z10.
There is no such thing as battery conditioning for lithium ion batteries. It's a myth.
The only "Conditioning" that exists is to fully charge your battery before first use.
Beyond on that, there is no such thing as condition. Never was.
